Back to the Basics is a 3-Star Quality Rated program. The quality of care a child receives affects a child's development. We are here not only to encourage academic development but physical and mental development as well. By being a Quality Rated program, Back to the Basics agrees to exceed state licensing requirements. What that means for our parents is that Back to the Basics is seeking to continually improve quality. Our 3-star rating from Georgia's Department of Early Care and Learning helps parents to identlfy Back to the Basics as a program with the highest level of quality care.
Back to the Basics uses the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) starting in our infant room up to our Ga Pre-K classrooms. GELDS is Georgia's high quality research based early learning standards for birth to five. Along with GELDS, our classrooms use High Reach Learning Curriculum and our Ga Pre-K classrooms use Creative Curriculum.
Back to the Basics Preschool is excited to announce that we have been selected for the Lifting Infant and Toddler Through Language-Rich Environments Grant. The Little Grant focuses on increasing and encouraging support in language and literary skills for infant and toddlers. Our Infant and toddler teachers will be working closely with a Bright from the Start Infant Toddler Specialist and our Peer Coach to increase confidence in promoting early literary skills in our high-quality infant and toddler classrooms.
Back to the Basics uses the Ages and Stages Questionnaire Third Addition Screener and the CDC Developmental Milestones. At the beginning of each school year or upon enrollment of the child, every child is given the ASQ and CDC Milestone to assess child development.
Our teachers plan two conferences per school year with parents to discuss their child’s developmental progress. Back to the Basics uses High Reach Progress Reports in our classrooms and Work Sampling System in our Ga Pre-K classrooms for assessment.
Back to the Basics follows USDA nutritional guidelines for meals and snacks. While we adhere to USDA guidelines, Back to the Basics embraces Farm to Preschool. Back to the Basics seeks fresh fruits and vegetables for our menu. We encourage heathy choices within our menu.
BTTB is also a Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) school. We encourage and support children and their families by promoting healthy social and emotional development.
Back to the Basics places a high value on safety for our families. Back to the Basics uses a keyless entry system, with each person having their own code to access the building. Back to the Basics also has a built in television monitoring system in each classroom.
Back to the Basics offers care for ages 6 weeks to 12 years, Ga Pre-K classes, After School care, Summer Camp and Ga Pre-K in the summer (STP).
